  Station Details

Station K2MFW's primary workhorse is the Icom-746. The Icom-746 is connected to a Signalink SL-1+ for digital modes, and an Ameritron AL-80A linear amplifier.

The linear is only used during contests, and is normally operating at 500 watts.

The antennas are a Mosley TA-33 WARC, a Diamond Vertical for 2/440, and a Cushcraft R-7 vertical. The R-7 is my primary weapon.

Other station equipment includes an Icom-706 MK IIG, but that is usually in the mobile, a Yaesu FT-857D, Icom 2100H and several HT's including a TH-D7, an old Kenwood TH-78A that just won't die, and a Yaesu VX-7R that I usually have floating nearby.

The 2100H spends its time connected to the WB2REM ULI interface, running Echolink, EchoTime TTS with .wav capability, Ambient Weather and NeoSpeech packages.

The outside aluminum is on an AlumaTower 45' crankup, with a Yaesu rotor. The R-7 sits on the other side of the property, on a fence post.

I use Hustler resonators for mobile, along with an Outbacker. I have provisions for a 25' flagpole to be attached to the back of my F-150, on the trailer receiver, and that is used for mobile dipoles when stationary, or as bird slicers when moving.

I have other odds and ends in the hamshack, that are just too boring to mention, but most of the common test equipment, meters, pc's etc are present.

Like I said, the 746 is my primary weapon, and I use it extensively...all of the other rigs sometimes need the manual, for I forget what all of the knobs and twirly things do!
